Who We Are

FLC is the result of two Lutheran congregations consolidating to form a new community. Our predecessor congregations, St. Paul Lutheran Church and Christ Lutheran Church, proclaimed God’s Word in Middletown since 1893 and 1895. In 2012, they discerned God’s call to join and form Faith Lutheran Church.

Originally our predecessor congregations served the German- and Swedish-speaking populations of Middletown. Today, we represent, welcome, and serve all ethnicities and orientations.

Grounded in our tradition of preaching, teaching, and serving, we look forward to living out our new future as God’s people united in love. It is our aim to draw on the talents of all persons, engaging them in the life and mission of this congregation.

What We Believe

We are a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. We believe in one God in three Persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, heals our brokenness and transforms our lives for love and service through His death and resurrection.

Our Purpose Statement

God’s purpose for our church is to unite unconditionally, sharing God’s love through our growing faith and mission with everyone in the name of Jesus Christ.
