We are a liturgical church, and music has a special place in Lutheran worship.

Our worship service has a basic pattern: we gather, we hear God’s Word, we share Holy Communion, and we are sent into the world. Our worship includes the singing of hymns, psalms, and service music. Lutherans believe that the congregation’s active participation enhances the spirit and meaning of the worship service. The Evangelical Lutheran Worship hymnal serves as the primary resource for our liturgy.

We divide the church year into six liturgical seasons: Advent, Christmas, Epiphany, Lent, Easter, and Days of Pentecost (also called Ordinary Time).
